Seek and Ye Shall Shack

Salutations, Mainstream maniacs! A quick update here to let you know that a few MRLs popped up on slsk since the last post and rather than sit on them for longer while some Mainstream posts are being put together for Soundological, I thought I'd hook you up right away. Enjoy!

Zoot Sims
Otra Vez
[MRL 358]

A Primera Vez

A sweet little bossa album from '64, light on the ballads and heavy on the bop. Sims gives Getz a run for his money in the genre and Jim Hall at his West coast best.

Arbee Stidham
A Time For Blues
[MRL 360]

Come A Little Closer

E-lectric chi-town blues with Wlkins' big band. Also includes "Let's Take The Long Way Home" previously comped on Killer Jazz Funk From Mainstream Vault Vol. 2

Clark Terry/Bob Brookmeyer Quintet
Gingerbread Men
[MRL 373]

Gingerbread Boy

What can you say? The sides they recorded as a team for Mainstream in the 6os saw some of the best trumpet and flugelhorn work of the era. Brookmeyer was no slouch on the 'bone either and this is a must have for fans of their quintet.
